1. Start Quotation Marks dialogue writing activity.
a. Turn your comic strip into a typed paragraph.
b. My example can be viewed on the Google Classroom assignment page. Again, this is only partially completed and yours should be different.
c. You need to start a new paragraph EVERY TIME a different character begins talking. Make sure you indent the new paragraph by pressing the TAB button one time.
d. Use the doc attached to the assignment on Google Classroom to type your dialogue activity.
e. Periods and commas ALWAYS go inside quotation marks.
f. Make sure to use proper spacing around your punctuation marks.
i. The first quotation mark should be right next to the first word – no spaces.
ii. Make sure to have a space between the speech tag and the dialogue.
iii. Dialogue example:
Mr. Jones yelled, “Slow down dog! I can’t run that fast.” He was breathing fast and his feet hurt from landing on the hard sidewalk.
“Woof,” the dog replied as he sat down and waited for Mr. Jones to catch his breath.
