During the month of October students at the middle school held a coin drive in recognition of Red Ribbon Week. Each advisory had their own coin collection container. Students were encouraged to bring in whatever coins they could donate. Somerset Drug Free Communities are a nonprofit organization in which we were collecting coins for. Somerset Drug Free Communities provide programming services not only within our schools around the county but also in our communities and with parents/families. North Star Middle School raised a total of $303.79. We also held a healthy competition amongst all the advisories. The advisory with the highest amount raised won a pizza party. Congratulations to Mrs. Lavan’s sixth grade advisory for raising the highest amount. A big THANK YOU to all the students and staff for their contributions and participation!
