Welcome

My name is Christine Wilt. I am the school counselor for grades 5- 8 at North Star East Middle School. I provide guidance lessons focused on the career, education, & work standards as outlined by the state of Pennsylvania. I also organize various career-oriented experiences for our middle school students. Some activities our students get to participate in is the 5th grade career day at our local technology center and 8th grade students are involved with a career day where various business from around the area present to our students general information pertaining to their career, what they do, how to get involved in their specific career and what to expected in the areas of financial stability, benefits packages, skills required, and so much more. We have also taken field trips where our students have had the opportunity to learn more about agriculture and STEM related careers such as manufacturing businesses. I also assist students in scheduling classes for the high school for their freshman year. I provide guidance to any student in the areas of academic, social, & personal needs. If a parent is looking for counseling resources for their student, I can help to assist the parent in making a referral to our mental health counselors provided through our district.
