Welcome to the North Star Middle School Nurse page!
I started my career as a Registered Nurse 19 years ago at Somerset Hospital after graduating from Allegany College of Maryland. I have experience in medical/surgical nursing, emergency department and managing an interventional cardiology office. I completed my bachelor's degree through Ohio University and obtained my School Nurse Certification through Slippery Rock.
School nursing is a unique and specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students. School nurses provide services to the entire school population: children with special needs, typical well children, school staff, and the community.
Health and learning go hand in hand. The school nurse has a multi-faceted role within the school setting; one that supports the physical, mental, emotional, and social health of our students while supporting the academic success of the student population.

Monday through Friday: 7:30 to 3:00 at the Middle School.
