My name is Jake Klukaszewski and I am the Seventh Grade History teacher at North Star Middle School.  Education is a true passion of mine and has always been in my blood.  My dad is a retired teacher, my mom is a project manager for PAVCS, my sister is an elementary teacher in Georgia, and my brother is studying to be a teacher in college right now. 

 

I am originally from Lower Burrell, PA but moved out to Somerset County to become part of the North Star family.  I graduated from Slippery Rock with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education with a focus on Social Studies and History.  I played baseball at the collegiate level, and also have a passion for coaching.  I have coached baseball and basketball in the past, and currently I am the Head Baseball Coach at North Star High School.

 

I am blessed to teach Geography here at North Star and we will cover a vast amount of content throughout the year.  We will cover the Five Themes of Geography, Mesopotamia, Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Greeks, Ancient Romans, and the Middle Ages to name a few.  I like to have students engage the material through a project based class, as I have found this helps information stick.  We will also have traditional tests on occasion.  I look forward to helping our students grow day in and day out, and hope they leave my class having a passion for history just as I do.
